Pimped out Mercedes rat rod low rider art car
Its been a while since my last post and I wanted to post this multi-faceted unit I found on the 24 hour lemons facebook. This older stretch Mercedes is complex work of art complete with spoke rims, rusty flame job, low rider suspension and some checkers to complete the weirdness. Not sure were its headed but its weird enough that it ended up making me smile. Will the owner of this Mercedes step forward and be congratulated:):):)

Remarkable 22ft Mercedes Finn Jet Art Car Limo- Video
I was just go another remarkable "Finnjet" art car video that really gives you a much better idea of the magnitide of this car. The Finn Jet, created by Antti Rahko, is a 22-foot-long, 7,500-pound compilation of chrome made from 40 different cars, based on two Mercedes-Benz station wagons welded together. There are also parts from a 1962 Chrysler Imperial thrown in the mix, plus 86 lights and 36 mirrors added over six years. It also has three axles, two of which are steerable, a stove, microwave, freezer, TV, two air conditioning and even a sauna (Finns are very serious about their saunas).
Finnish-born Rahko, who is from Kurikka, a town of about 10,000 in western Finland, emigrated to the United States in 1984. He left his son in charge of the furniture business he'd built in Europe. He retired from the business and with lots of free time and his interest in old cars he bought and scoured from junkyards. He mainly built this car to amuse him self but due to health issues the Finnjet is now available for sale for only $950,000. He was discovered at a Florida art car parade and since then has been a giant hit and was even featured on the Discover Channel.
The name “Finn Jet” traces back to 1976, when the Finns launched the longest and largest car ferry in the world, and the only one powered by gas turbines. The original Finnjet is said to still be the fastest conventional ferry in service, with a recorded top speed of 33.5 knots.

36ft Multicolored British Limo Monstrosity
via
The UK had their own version of the Cash for Clunkers called the "Scrappage Scheme". The government scheme is coming to a close but the car manufactures are picking up the plan so Nissan decided to mark the occasion by building a multicolored 36 ft scrap car limo monstrosity constructed by renowned sculptor Graham Wardale, who works for a specialist movie props company.
The vehicle took a team of four more than 500 hours to create, and is made up of more than 2000 parts – including a set of fluffy dice. Unfortunately it has no engine so it wont be gracing the streets of London. Darn it! I wonder how many prom couples you could fit in it?

Christmas Spirit Manifested by Spray Painting a Limo?

The real Christmas spirit manifested right after Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans in the form of a spray painted limo right after Wal-Mart was looted for spray paint. It seems even in the midst of disaster and bad times, street "artists" found a way to offer peace and season’s greetings. This could very well be the image that best describes the last ten years, that means its time to get your mad max vehicles ready for the next ten.

Go Vegan Art Car Limo - "Big Vegan" going after "Big Burger"

The main message

Happy animals although I haven't had a monkey burger lately.
Tasty vegan snacks nicely arranged on leather seats
There is no better way to say "Go Vegan" than with a nicely painted stretch Vegan Limo Art Car, which sounds like an oxymoron at first. I guess if you are living in Texas you have to compete with all the other big stuff around. First there was "Big Oil" now there is "Big Vegan" coming around trying to mess with "Big Barbecue" and "Big Burger". I guess you won't be putting any long horns on the hood any time soon? I found this limo art car on Walking the Vegan Line inspired by vegan artist Peter Max for the 21st annual Houston Art Car Parade, a vegan-themed entry by the Society of PEACE!. Nice Job!!!!

Machete Betties Roller Derby Art Car

The first and older of the two is my Santa Claus Car. Made back in 2000 with a Geo Metro using a giant Santa Hat made out of wire and foam by my wife at the time , Charlotte. Then covered with over 200 santa figures and Christmas ornaments and lights. The fact that over the years I began to look more and more like Santa himself made the car even more fun.

It is currently retired and I now mainly drive my Machete Bettie Command Car honoring a local Roller Derby team, the Machete Betties, of which I am the Team Chaplain. Painted by the girls, it is also a daily driver. Good luck with this project and Godz bless ya for doing it.
